Whiting Group Custom-Designs Crushing Equipment

Have some old rock crushing or other mining equipment around and don't know what to do with it? Check out the Whiting Group.

The Macedon, NY company designs new machinery from old to create a custom model for your sand, mining and gravel quarries. The whiting Group takes recycling seriously.

"All our plants are assembled in our yard," said Jay Dee Whiting, one of the owners. Equipment is built to meet the specific needs of each customer.

What if replacement parts are hard to find? No problem. Whiting's experienced craftsmen hand craft the parts right on the premises.

Rock crushers are built to their original condition or better and backed with new warranties that exceed the original. "Our specialty is rebuilding crushers for the quarry industry," said Whiting. Crushers are time tested. All must run for at least a full day and are carefully checked for flaws. Whiting's extensive client list includes 90% of the work for Dolomite Products Corporation in Rochester, NY, and projects with Michigan Aggregate machinery and Lippmann-Milwaukee, Inc.

No stranger to the equipment industry, co owner Lawson Whiting, Jay Dee's brother, was in charge of a couple of quarries in Vietnam. He was part of the Seabees "We build, we fight" Construction Battalion. Besides working with the Marines and Army to fight the enemy, Seabees built schools and infrastructure.

We've even rebuilt a sugar cane crusher for the Antigua Government," said Jay Dee discussing other international ventures.

Have a project design in mind? The whiting Group created a design for Allen Sand and Gravel. They wanted a used screen to be part of a wash plant to help produce spec sand and wash stone, but had a tight. Whiting produced a high-efficient wash plant for $52,000 with a used 5' x 10' Double deck Allis Chalmers screen and new Trio 36" x 24" sand screw in less than three weeks.
